One of your most pressing questions on your first trip to Seoul is: how am I gonna get from Incheon Airport to my hotel/next destination?
While that question didn’t quite occur to me when I was travelling with a tour group, nor when I had transport arranged to my dorm thanks to the lovely folks at Korea University, it dawned on me during my family trip that, well, it was something we now had to figure out.
But don’t fret, this is a lot easier than you imagine!
Incheon Airport Bus

Although we snapped these photos when we were going from our hotel to the airport, you will notice that the bus actually makes a loop. For other bus routes, do check online for the full list of stations!
If you don’t know which stop is nearest for you but still at least know where part of Seoul you should be getting off at, what you can do is to ask the bus driver, or the other staff that helps out with ticketing and luggage. Just let them know what your hotel is, and they’ll figure out the nearest stop for you. They are experts who know the area well, so you can trust them!
Airport Bus Ticketing Offices
Terminal 1: The ticketing offices are located close to Exit 4 and 9 (Arrivals Hall), first level (indoor) and offices close to 4, 6, 7, 8, 11, 13 and 9C exit doors (outdoors).
Terminal 2: At the ticketing offices located in the Traffic Center (B1).
Where to board Airport Bus
Terminal 1: First level, A to F (1-14 gates).
Terminal 2: First level, 1 to 6 gates. B1 level (Traffic Center).

For our ride, we took 6015 to Myeongdong. I’m not sure why we paid 14 000 won only, maybe there was some discount?
Other info
The Airport Buses run quite frequently, but don’t get too happy and wander off to eat breakfast after buying your ticket. If you are going from Incheon Airport, you have to buy tickets for a particular time slot, and I don’t think you can have it changed to another timing if you miss it.
On the other hand, boarding from, say, the bus stop near your hotel is a lot more flexible. You just need to wait there for the bus to arrive, pay for the tickets on the spot, and you can board. Granted, it’s also subject to seat availability, but because the buses run so frequently, you don’t really have to fret about getting a seat.
Another thing to take note: the bus attendant will give you a corresponding tag for your luggage that’s in the luggage compartment (limited to one per person, if I’m not wrong; the rest you’ll have to bring onto the bus). Don’t lose it, because that’s the only way you can prove that your luggage is yours!
Some other ways you can travel to your hotel include taxi and the subway, but I think it’s quite straightforward so I’m not going to go into details.
Safe travels in Seoul! ~
